Apple Buys A4 Chip Maker

The battle of the buyouts continues between Apple and Google. This week Google buys App developer LabPixies and now Apple buys chip maker Intrinsity Inc. Intrinsity has a hand in the technology behind Apple’s A4 processor. Seems like both these companies are full throttle and racing towards domination of a very broad market.  It wouldn’t surprise me if Apple announced its own search engine. I think this war started when Google decided to get into the computer and phone markets. We shall see how this all shakes out and see how well the two companies play with each other on their respective platforms (there are already rumors about Apple switching to Bing on the iPhone and iPad). All that aside, head over to the Wall Street Journal for the whole story on Apple’s purchase of Intrinsity Inc.
